3 question blog #2

This was do a Friday and i didn't do it but now its here yay.
     What i did in that  week was learning about chemical and physical changes we did labs to see the difference between the both were. what i learned was that a change in state is a physical change and for it to be a chemical change it has to get in mix with acid,fire,or two liquids turn into a solid (perspitant). What i did to improve in these subject was learn the basic things that made a chemical change and what made a physical change and examples of those.

The task that I have completed recently in my class of chemistry have been 2 labs, and a pogil, regarding significant digits and significant digits calculations. The pogil we did was significant digits and measurements this was the first thing we did to learn the basics of significant digits and how there manipulated like if you have only centimeters and no millimeters you estimate to the tenths place like if it 5 centimeters you have to add a 5.0 centimeters but if it has a millimeters then its 5.12 the 2 is estimated. Exploring Reactivity and Periodicity

The question that we tried to answer with this lab was does reactivity a periodic property? What we did to figure it out was test elements in their solid forms and putting them inside water to see how they react. Then we would put phenolphthalein as a base. The elements we used in solid form were sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and copper. Then we made observations on how the elements reacted with water. This are my observations: Sodium- was moving like crazy on the water it was producing smoke and was making a sizzling noise. It changes the color of the water once we added the phenolphthalein.  Potassium- literally exploded once it touched the water and we saw flame.It also changed the color of the water once we added the phenolphthalein.
